How do I use Apple Cider Vinegar?

You can simply add our Apple Cider Vinegar to your chickens’ drinking water. We recommend adding 20ml per litre of water.

Health Benefits:

  • Digestive Health: Apple cider vinegar can aid in digestion by promoting a healthy gut microbiome. The acetic acid and probiotics (“mother”) in raw, unfiltered ACV may help improve nutrient absorption.
  • Antimicrobial Properties: The acetic acid in ACV has antimicrobial effects that can help prevent infections like salmonella in chickens. It may also help control internal parasites.
  • Respiratory Health: The antimicrobial and expectorant properties of ACV can potentially support respiratory health in chickens.

  • Drinking Water Supplement: ACV can be added to chickens’ drinking water at a rate of 1-2 tablespoons per gallon to support digestive and overall health. It’s best to use raw, unfiltered ACV with the “mother.”
  • Feed Supplement: Small amounts of ACV can be mixed into chicken feed to improve palatability and provide potential health benefits.
  • Cleaning and Disinfecting: The antimicrobial properties of ACV make it useful for cleaning and disinfecting chicken coops, waterers, and feeders.

  • Dilution: ACV should always be diluted before giving it to chickens, as undiluted vinegar can cause burns and irritation.
  • Moderation: While ACV can offer benefits, it should be used in moderation as excessive amounts may lead to issues like low potassium levels.
  • Quality: Opt for raw, unfiltered ACV with the “mother” for maximum potential benefits.

Apple cider vinegar can be a useful addition to a chicken’s diet and care routine when used appropriately and in moderation, providing potential benefits for digestive health, immune function, and overall well-being.
