I purchased this to stop my chickens wasting feed. Unless my chickens are awful, they still manage to pull the feed out of this onto the floor.
It’s nice it holds a large quantity of feed but the level of feed is the same as the hole so they can still scrape it out with their beaks.

These feeders (and drinkers) are fantastic. So glad i found them. The feeders hold plenty of food and keep the rain and slugs out as they come with plugs to put in the feeder holes at night, brilliant idea!

Love it, does exactly what they said it would. Keeps the feed dry, no pests can get in with the covers put on at night. Chickens took to it straight away. Bought the water one too.

This feeder is so good. I have been trying to find a good weather resistant feeder for some time that I don’t have to keep filling up every day, this is it! The chickens took to it straight away. I ordered a few as we have a large flock and Little Hen Supplies packaged them up perfectly and sent them very quick. I’ve had comms with the team and they were super helpful and lovely people.

I tried “The Little Hen” Chicken Feeder today. It arrived nicely boxed with lovely coloured instructions that included hints and tips for use. It was so easy to put together and I was immediately impressed by the quality. Made from strong plastic that once filled will definitely remain upright despite the best attempts of both my greedy large breeds and the strong Welsh mountain winds !! I presented the feeder to my girls who were initially a little suspicious but they soon overcame any concerns once they spotted a few specks of feed on the rims of the feeding tubes (one of the suggested tips from the guys at The Little Hen. Within minutes the girls had their heads in the port holes and were happily feeding away. I’m impressed, it’s well made, sturdy, easy to fill, easy to clean and no spills or mess. Couldn’t ask for more from a feeder !!

On opening the box I was pleasantly surprised by the size and robust quality of the feeder. Any feeders used by me need to withstand long Welsh mountain winters with 80mph + wind & driving rain as well as some of my heavy weight birds who can be quite determined to get at food ? I love that I can fill the feeder and use the ‘plugs’ to close off feeding tubes at night, after all I don’t want to feed the local wild life, slugs and one very greedy Labrador who’s determined to be a chicken ! I decided to try the feeder with birds who’d never used this style before. A light sprinkle of food on the tube rims and the girls quickly worked it out. I also tried it with large breed and half bantam breeds who all reached inside and were able to feed just fine. The lid is strong and will take birds standing on top as well as keeping the feed inside dry and secure. I think full The feeder would be heavy enough not to move about in storms but mountain life has tought me to strap EVERYTHING down. Fortunately this feeder can have a nice weight. Put on The lid or secured in place by its large carry handle, so another plus point !! The construction makes it easy to clean & dry which is very important if you have multiple feeders to maintain. Designed to suit multiple breeds too. Over all id give this feeder a massive thumbs up. It’s a must .. Practicle and robust A*****
